Our Brief
Assess what the potential economic impact of visiting superyachts could be and present best cases of superyacht destination development after a major sports event
Our Solution
Using in-house data on yacht, crew and guest spend, we estimated the economic impact of superyachts for different size categories and types. An online survey was sent out to assess the attractiveness of the region to superyachts. Case studies on other regions that have successfully developed as a superyacht destination as a result of, or in conjunction with, sports events, provided an insight into lessons learned by other regions. The client is now using the insights to set the agenda for their superyacht tourism strategy and legislative change.
